"All the world's a stage,

and all the men and women merely players"

JACQUES, ACT II SCENE VII

Conducted amid leafy bowers, fairy lights and a summery soundtrack of acoustic folk, Shakespeare's As You Like It is a comedy of fantasy forests, cross-dressing lovers and happily-ever-after. Duke Ferdinand is banished to the forest with his court, followed shortly by his daughter Rosalind and her friend Celia in disguise... Orlando, Rosalind's lover, isn't far behind. Confusion and delight ensue.

Classic romance and youthful mistakes meet vibrant acoustic-folk as Polyptych Productions and Christ Church Dramatic Society present a modern retelling of one of Shakespeare's best-loved comedies. With a cast and crew comprised exclusively of students from Oxford University, As You Like It will make you laugh and fall in love in Christ Church's very own escapist forest, the Cathedral Garden.

Open exclusively for student productions, the garden is nestled next to the city's cathedral and is one of Oxford's hidden gems. Its natural stage, fringed with summer foliage, provides the perfect setting for an exploration into Shakespeare's pastoral. Soak up the beauty of summer in Oxford as the forest changes from day to night, from madness to marriage, and from discord to love.
